Ivy League Essay: Ivy League Admission Consultant, …
This article is dishonest. The young man that was referred to in this article was in the 99th percentile for everyone that took the SAT. He was in the 2 nd percentile of his graduating class. The SAT scores of successful applicants to Ivy League universities range from 2100-2350. With an SAT score of 2250, this young man was comfortably in that range. Successful applicants to Cal Tech had the highest average SAT scores at 2300. If you really want to be scientific and truly transparent, you should look at the median scores as well.
Mr. Enin applied himself and excelled. The is no reason to try to diminish his accomplishments. He is an inspiration not just to blacks but to everyone.
I don’t think that the author of this article did her research. Here are some average SAT scores for a few elite universities. MIT-2220, Columbia-2215,Dartmouth-2190, Yale-2255, Princeton-2255, U Penn-2170 and Stanford-2215. No matter how you look at it , Mr. Enin was an extremely strong candidate. I don’t understand why Debbie takes issue with the positive attention that this young man has received. It is well deserved . I know of several blacks who graduated from elite schools. Debbie, this is not an aberration. Most of these people went on to grad school and are continuing to enjoy their version of the American Dream.

Ivy League Essay helped me with my college applications. As an international student I was clueless at first, but I received help with most of the different aspects of the Common Application. In no small part thanks to this I was admitted to Cornell, Dartmouth and Princeton and got waitlisted at UPenn. Ivy League Essay was excellent!
I really wish you had done your research before posting this rant of pure ignorance and hate. The fact that you claimed an SAT score of 2250 is not good enough for an Ivy League alone shows me that you really know nothing about the college admissions process.

Actually, it’s a myth that Asians are shunted aside by Whites in admissions to Harvard and Yale. The raw data collected by Ron Unz shows that Whites are actually hit the hardest by Affirmative Action policies, then Asians. Asians have a very high percentage of top people in academic settings, but in terms of raw numbers, Whites have the most, and are the most discriminated against by far. Do yourself a favor and look up Ron Unz’s work on Ivy League admissions and the discrimination involved.
“Amidst all the complications and redundancies of the medical school application process, I found myself struggling to put together a creative and persuasive personal statement. It was only thanks to Bev Taylor’s great skill and genuine desire to help the people she works with that I was able to organize my ideas, emphasize my achievements, and present a creative and articulate statement to medical schools. Her detailed oriented interest in who I am and what I have accomplished and all the hard work she put into helping me write offered me both creative and technical insight that helped me to finally put a solid essay together. Knowing that she was dedicating her experience and skills towards helping me achieve my educational goals really put me at ease. Her honesty and diligence is rare to find in any field and was an incredible benefit to my application process. I highly recommend the services of Ivy Coach.” ~Dahnie Brandes

Thirdly, and more importantly, your argument assumes that a class full of only “merit” based students, who would be predominately white and Asian, would make for a more interesting learning environment for the students, and that it would expose the students to at least an equally rich and varied perspective. It wouldn’t. This isn’t my opinion, it is a fact. And the fact is, that research has proven time and time again that homogenous learning environments make for far less inquisitive students who lack an understanding of the larger, more diverse world. Conversely, heterogeneous populations tend to produce more intellectually curious, open-minded students who understand the perspectives of the larger world. A larger world where the population is, in fact much, more diverse than most college campuses. Students learn as much, if not more from each other as they do from professors, so it inaccurate to say that they are likely to learn as much from a homogeneous group as from a heterogeneous one. College admissions are not an award, but instead an attempt by each college to admit the most well rounded, interesting a capable class that they can form from the group of applicants.

This is an old post, but I hope you read it. Your argument is based upon a number of incorrect, or at the very least, highly debatable assumptions. First that standardize tests are the single most important factor for admission, and that they are the best indicator of performance and outcome. They simply are not. Elite colleges use a holistic assessment, including essays, the student’s extra-curriculars, high school course load and the quality of school they attended versus their performance in the school relative to his peers. For all you or I know, he scored extremely high on all counts – 11th out of 650 students puts him in the top .01% of his class, so essentially the same as the #1 kid and something that advisors do not differentiate between. As for the predicted performance outcome or potential, most experts estimate that standardize tests are only about 6-8% accurate in predicting outcome, so they are far less important a factor than your argument assumes.

I like how you sit here and try to make yourself feel better by targeting a kid. Oh, what schools did you and your children attend? It doesn’t matter what his scores were he got into every ivy league school. The reason people are making it such a big deal is because stupid fucks like yourself make it seem like Blacks are not able to do anything. He is a success story no matter what color he is. And the only reason people mention his immigrant parents is because he is Black. But if their skin was white that would not even be a topic. There are millions of white immigrants that come over here but aren’t treated poorly. Due to the fact they just blend in with the dominant group in society. Lastly, go tell your parents and your children its time to pack your things. We have to go back to the country we came from because we to are indeed fucking immigrants..
