When Tuesday nightrolled around, my normal time to visit the 2nd-year architecturestudio, I still had to finalize my questions and the meeting times for myperspective interviewees. After my regular Tuesday meeting of the CollegeDemocrats (around 8:10 p.m.), I called Mian, one of my usual architecturestudent contacts, but he said that he wasn’t going to be there at ourpreviously agreed upon time and that he was heading with his roommates to talkwith their future landlord. He was going to be back at 9:40, so I decided to head to the Pattee Library to work on my questions. I also contacted Christiwho I had scheduled an appointment with, but I later learned that she was onlyplanning to stop by the studio to pick up some supplies.

Surprisingly, Mian wasback at studio ahead of schedule, something that is never the case from what Ihave seen, so he invited me to the SALA Building to ask him my questions. Itcouldn’t have been a more awful night to be walking around campus; the rain andcold were reluctant and there was hardly a soul in sight. This of course wastrue until I arrived at the architecture studio. It was alive inside, despitethe dreary and dismal weather just a few yards outside. Students were busymoving about, drawing, studying and socializing.

Interviews will be by individual appointments ONLY.

All applicants must participate in an on-campus interview and writing session as stated in the .

Connect past to future: The committee is asking how your past connects to your future via business school. You must show that the MBA is the bridge between you yesterday and you tomorrow. Paint a picture of a future that rests naturally on your past, assuming the MBA from the school in question. Past, present and future can be presented in any order. What works will depend on the details of your situation.

The key to getting your admissions essays right is knowing what each question seeks – what the school expects from your response in each case, and what bonus information can legitimately be added. But schools each ask different questions. Or do they? They appear different but if you look closely they are just variations on a few classics and the most common of all is "Why an MBA?"

It would seem that through this work a new genre has been born.
Reich speaks of the work as a "music documentary" (Reich discusses this in an interview on Channel 4 Different Trains, broadcast in the UK on 8th April, 1989) and anticipates many more examples of this style in the future. What is so revolutionary about the work is the fact that the human beings' speech intonation has become the libretto, which directly forms the music. Reich has "sampled" fragments from his interviews, and then meticulously notated the melodic line of the speech. Developments in music technology in the late 1980's enabled Reich to return to the root of music, namely, language. What Arnold Schoenberg attempted with "Sprechgesag" (music half-way between spoken words and melody, such as in "Pierre Lunaire", in 1911) merely foreshadows a previously undreamt of genre were diction and music could be inextricably bond together as one force. We might observe that such a form enables social "truths" to be exposed more accurately. Compositions such as "The Desert Music" and "Tehillium" (concerning the oppression of the Jews) betray Reich's inclination for depicting social and political issues in word setting. The American poet, William Carlos William (1883-1963) when writing "The Desert Music" sought to compose verse,
" ... that was closely matched to the idiom, to the rhythmic
cadences, of American speech".

During Open Interview Period or by invitation

Let us now consider the role of electronics in this piece in closer detail. Firstly, it would appear that the work represents an aboutturn in Reich's philosophy on music. In an interview with Meirion Bowen, he states,
"I prophesied in 1970 that electronic music per se would die out, and it’s largely true".
This is not exactly what he wrote,
"Electronic music as such will gradually die and be absorbed into the ongoing music of people singing and playing instruments".

During your interview, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Alfonso became a jet pilot after completing training in France on a scholarship. He grew up in a village on the Amazon and one day, while assembling a robot out of rubber and grass, a local priest saw his exceptional mathematical and scientific ability and arranged for him to visit the consulate in France. In France he took an engineering test and won a scholarship at the Ecole Scientifique. He chose to study flight and was the Valedictorian of his class even though he was only fourteen. After he immigrated to the United States, Alfonso began working as a pilot and presently has a job with Worldwide Airlines flying the Duluth to Akron shuttle.
